The Kenya and Seychelles itinerary, day by day

A 12-day Kenya and Seychelles itinerary — big cats on the Mara’s golden plains, then a world away: barefoot days among the granite boulders and turquoise coves of the Seychelles.

Nothing here is fixed — this is the shape we design most often. Tell us what to keep, stretch or swap, and your version arrives priced and complete.

Best time to go

July–October pairs Mara migration season with the Seychelles’ calm season.

US travelers: check current entry requirements for each country on travel.state.gov — we also walk you through visas at booking.

Day 1

Nairobi

Arrive Nairobi; overnight in leafy Karen with time for the Giraffe Centre and the Sheldrick elephant nursery.

Days 2–5

Maasai Mara

Fly from Wilson Airport (45 minutes) into a private Mara conservancy — off-road lion and cheetah, night drives and a dawn balloon over the plains.

Days 6–7

Amboseli

Great tuskers beneath Kilimanjaro’s snows before flying back through Nairobi.

Days 8–11

Seychelles

A direct flight to paradise — a beachfront hideaway on Mahé or Praslin, island-hopping, snorkeling and nothing on the calendar.

Day 12

Home

Fly out of Mahé, rested and sun-warmed.

Questions about this journey

Direct flights link Nairobi to Mahé in about three hours — among the easiest bush-to-island connections in Africa. We time the safari legs around them.

A private conservancy, for off-road big-cat viewing and night drives without the crowds — with a day trip into the reserve for the crossings in season.

Easily — the shape stays the same. Zanzibar is closer and better value; the Seychelles wins on drama; Mauritius on resort polish. We’ll match you honestly.
