&Beyond’s Sossusvlei Desert Lodge stands against a rocky outcrop in the NamibRand — a vast private reserve beside the dune sea, and one of Africa’s only International Dark Sky Reserves. Each glass-fronted suite has a skylight over the bed and a private plunge pool facing a thousand square kilometers of nothing.

Days run to desert rhythm: dawn expeditions to the great dunes at Sossusvlei, e-biking and quad trails across the plains, and evenings at the lodge’s observatory with its resident astronomer.

A note from the founders

Why book Sossusvlei Desert Lodge through NndeeAfrika

You never pay more than booking direct — usually less. And everything around your stay is handled.

01

A better rate, more journey

As a trade partner we access preferred rates and seasonal offers the lodge doesn’t always publish — you’ll never pay more than booking direct. And a lodge can only sell you its own rooms; we build the journey around it: international flights, the right nights, and where you go next.

02

Door-to-door, no gaps

A private car waiting at the airport, flights timed to your route, and a meet-and-greet at every step. Book direct and the gaps become your problem; book with us and there are none.

03

We know this lodge personally

We know how the dune excursions actually run — timings, light, the balloon option — and how the NamibRand’s dark-sky nights fit a full Namibia flying circuit.

04

One call if anything changes

A missed flight, a weather delay, a change of heart mid-trip — you contact one person, and we re-arrange everything behind the scenes. The lodge looks after you on property; we look after the whole journey.

Sossusvlei Desert Lodge FAQs

The lodge sits in the private NamibRand beside the dune sea; the famous Sossusvlei and Deadvlei pans are a guided early-morning excursion away. Guests trade a little distance for the reserve’s solitude and certified dark skies — a trade most consider a win.

Two to three — one dawn for the dunes, one night for the observatory, and a day for the desert itself.
