Governors’ Camp has stood in its forest bend of the Mara River since 1972 — the reserve’s original permanent camp, on ground chosen a century earlier as the private campsite of colonial governors, which is to say: the best ground there was.
The location still does the work — the Musiara Marsh of the famous Marsh Pride is next door, crossing points are close, and elephant walk through camp most weeks. The style is heritage safari: proper tents under old trees, lamplit dinners, and guides in their third decade.
The Mara’s original camp, and still where we send first-timers who want the classic canvas-and-lantern safari in the middle of the action.

As a trade partner we access preferred rates and seasonal offers the camp doesn’t always publish — you’ll never pay more than booking direct. And a camp can only sell its own beds; we build the journey around it: international flights, the right nights, and where you go next.
A private car waiting at Nairobi’s Wilson airport, light-aircraft hops timed to your route, and a guide who already knows your name. Book direct and the gaps between stops become your problem; book with us and there are none.
We’ve walked the Governors’ family of camps and know how Main, Little and Il Moran differ tent by tent — and when the reserve beats a conservancy for your dates.
A missed flight, a weather delay, a change of heart mid-trip — you contact one person, and we re-arrange everything behind the scenes. The camp looks after you on property; we look after the whole journey.
