Angama means “suspended in mid-air” in Swahili, and the lodge earns it: two intimate camps of glass-fronted tented suites sit on the lip of the Oloololo escarpment, three hundred meters above the Mara Triangle — the very landscape filmed in Out of Africa. Every suite gets the view; sunrise happens at eye level.
Below, the Triangle is the best-managed corner of the reserve, with fewer vehicles and superb year-round game. Angama’s own conservation and community work — and its photographic studio — round out a lodge that is as polished as the Mara gets.
Suspended above the Mara Triangle where Out of Africa was filmed — the view alone justifies the trip; the guiding seals it.
— Evance & JenniferYou never pay more than booking direct — usually less. And everything around the lodge is handled.
As a trade partner we access preferred rates and seasonal offers the lodge doesn’t always publish — you’ll never pay more than booking direct. And a lodge can only sell you its own beds; we build the journey around it: international flights, the right nights, and where you go next.
A private car waiting at the airport, light-aircraft hops timed to your route, and a guide who already knows your name. Book direct and the gaps between camps become your problem; book with us and there are none.
We know which of the two camps to choose for your trip, how the Triangle’s crossings differ from the eastern reserve’s, and when the balloon and the picnic on the Out of Africa kopje are worth building in.
A missed flight, a weather delay, a change of heart mid-trip — you contact one person, and we re-arrange everything behind the scenes. The lodge looks after you on property; we look after the whole journey.
