Mnemba is a tiny private island off Zanzibar’s northeast tip, ringed by a marine conservation area whose house reef you can snorkel straight off the beach. With just twelve palm-thatched bandas hidden in the tropical forest, it hosts a couple of dozen guests at most — barefoot, phone-down, completely private.

This is where we send honeymooners and milestone travelers after the Serengeti: turtles nest on the beach in season, dolphins pass most mornings, and the diving and snorkeling are the best in Zanzibar. It books out many months ahead — the single most important reason to plan early.

A note from the founders

Twelve barefoot bandas on a private island — the honeymoon finale we book a year ahead. Nothing else in Zanzibar touches it.

Why book &Beyond Mnemba Island through NndeeAfrika

You never pay more than booking direct — usually less. And everything around your stay is handled.

01

A better rate, more holiday

As a trade partner we access preferred rates and seasonal offers the resort doesn’t always publish — you’ll never pay more than booking direct. And a resort can only sell you its own rooms; we build the journey around it: international flights, the safari before, and every transfer in between.

02

Door-to-door, no gaps

A private car waiting at the airport, flights timed from the Serengeti or Kilimanjaro, and a meet-and-greet at every step. Book direct and the gaps become your problem; book with us and there are none.

03

We know this property personally

We know Mnemba’s seasons — when the turtles nest, when the sea is calmest for diving, and how far ahead each travel month really books out — so your island days land as well as your safari ones.

04

One call if anything changes

A missed flight, a weather delay, a change of heart mid-trip — you contact one person, and we re-arrange everything behind the scenes. The resort looks after you on property; we look after the whole journey.

&Beyond Mnemba Island FAQs

No — through NndeeAfrika you pay the same rate or better, never more. As a trade partner we access rates and seasonal offers not always published, and we also arrange your flights, private transfers and the safari half of your trip, remaining your single point of contact throughout.

Three to four nights is ideal after a safari — enough to settle into island time, dive the atoll and do nothing at all. Because there are only twelve bandas, we recommend booking six months or more ahead for peak season.

June to October and December to February bring the driest, calmest weather. The long rains (roughly April–May) are quietest; turtle nesting peaks between about February and July. We’ll match the island days to your safari dates honestly.
