Bisate’s six thatched spheres — woven like giant bird nests into a natural amphitheater of an eroded volcanic cone — face Bisoke and Karisimbi, the very volcanoes whose gorilla families you’ll trek at dawn.

Wilderness built more than a lodge: the surrounding hillsides carry hundreds of thousands of native trees planted with guests’ own hands, knitting the forest back toward the park boundary. The trek is the headline; the reforestation is the legacy.

A note from the founders

The lodge we recommend around a gorilla permit — reforested volcano slopes, extraordinary architecture, and the treks a short drive away.

Why book Bisate Lodge through NndeeAfrika

You never pay more than booking direct — usually less. And everything around your stay is handled.

01

A better rate, more safari

As a trade partner we access preferred rates and seasonal offers the lodge doesn’t always publish — you’ll never pay more than booking direct. And a lodge can only sell its own beds; we build the journey around it: international flights, permits, the right nights, and where you go next.

02

Door-to-door, no gaps

A private car waiting at Kigali airport, transfers timed to your route, and a guide who already knows your name. Book direct and the gaps become your problem; book with us and there are none.

03

We know this lodge personally

We know Bisate’s rhythm — how trek assignments work at the park headquarters, which months balance mud against crowds, and how it sequences with Kigali and a savannah leg.

04

One call if anything changes

A missed flight, a weather delay, a change of heart mid-trip — you contact one person, and we re-arrange everything behind the scenes. The lodge looks after you on property; we look after the whole journey.

Bisate Lodge FAQs

No — through NndeeAfrika you pay the same rate or better, never more. As a trade partner we access rates and seasonal offers not always published, and we also arrange your permits, flights, private transfers and the rest of your Rwanda itinerary, remaining your single point of contact throughout.

Permits are limited per gorilla family per day and sell out months ahead (Rwanda’s are US$1,500 per person per trek). We secure them the moment your dates firm up, match them to your lodge nights, and handle every formality — you just bring boots and wonder.

Two to three nights — two treks (gorillas, then golden monkeys or a second family) is the pattern that satisfies, with the Fossey hike or tree planting between.

Add Bisate Lodge to your safari.

Tell us when you want to go and what matters most to you — the animals, the food, the quiet. We’ll design your private, bespoke luxury Rwanda journey around Bisate Lodge and take care of everything in between. No pressure, ever.
