Africa is a year-round destination for luxury safari travel, but the dry season is the best time for game-viewing.

For East Africa, the dry season is from July through October, while for

Southern Africa is a little longer:

April through October. Itineraries vary in length, distance covered, and focus, and each nndeeafrika Luxury Safari is amazing and puts you in touch with the true spirit of the region. If you have questions or aren’t sure which tour to choose, email at [email protected] and we’ll help you customize the safari that’s right for you.

ast and Southern Africa have wonderful weather and may be visited all year.

A pleasant 70 degrees Fahrenheit greets the day in Tanzania and Kenya – The weather usually changes throughout the year. Temperature varies more by geography than by season, with chilly upcountry places like Mount Kenya and the Aberdares at 7,000 feet, warmer dry bush country, and tropical sea level districts like Mombasa and Zanzibar.

Southern Africa has more visible seasonal variations, with winter lasting from April to November and summer lasting from December to March. Early mornings and nights on safari are generally colder than expected across Africa, particularly in May, June, July, and August

Visas are required for entrance into Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania, however visas may be obtained on arrival in Zimbabwe and Zambia. Visas are not required for US passport holders to visit South Africa or Botswana.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for African safaris, although it is entirely optional. We recommend that guests obtain a travel insurance coverage that covers their vacation, and we urge international guests to look into travel insurance companies.

The Great Migration in East Africa is heavily dependent on the weather, so it is best to talk to a Nndeeafrika Safari specialist regarding the best time to plan your trip. In general, the herds can be found amidst the short grasses of Serengeti National Park from November to May.

From January onward, wildebeest, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle alternate between the woodlands and plains depending on the weather.

In May, as the grasses become dry, the herds begin the roughly 500-mile Migration. They move north, and by June they are in the more lush plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

In November and December, they arrive in intensely green savannas and woodlands where they stay until the cycle begins again.

Prior to departure for safari, Nndeeafrika requires all travelers on their safari programs to be fully vaccinated against Covid. However, immunizations are not always required. Before traveling abroad, it is always a good idea to carefully assess your health needs. The CDC advises using a malaria preventive and consulting the CDC instructions at https://www.cdc.gov/. We urge that you contact your doctor well in advance of your trip to discuss these options.

The title “Big Five” alludes to Africa’s top predators, the lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and Cape buffalo, which are must-sees on any safari experience in Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and Botswana

We recommend booking your trip as soon as possible. Lodges and tented camps for safari are booked up quickly, so we need to reserve those before they fill up. However, sometimes we do have space at the last minute as well.

Tanzania Travel Guide

Tanzania is a beautiful country in Africa with a warm Swahili culture and some of the best wildlife on the planet. It is known for its Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar, making it a popular Africa Travel safari destination. Here, we provide Africa travel tips to know before travel to Tanzania

Tanzania is best visited between December and March, or June and October, when the weather is moderate and largely dry, and game watching is at its optimum. The primary rainy season lasts from April to May, with a brief wet season in November. These wet seasons attract fewer people while providing plentiful greenery for grazing animals. The calving season for animals such as wildebeest begins in February, providing a front-row view to the infants’ first steps and interactions.

Tourist Visas are required for U.S. and Canadian passport holders traveling to Tanzania. An Electronic Tourist Visa (eVisa) is recommended by Nndeeafrika. Visit eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa to apply online

The Great Migration is the greatest animal migration in the world. Every year, almost two million animals (wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle) migrate in a clockwise pattern between the Serengeti (Tanzania) and Masai Mara (Kenya) habitats.

While this cycle occurs all year, the herds are most common in the Serengeti in Southern Tanzania from December to early March. April through May is the season of lengthy rains, when the herds begin their journey north over the middle and western Serengeti, feeding hungrily as they go. From June through July, the herds graze their way across the Serengeti’s western corridor, continuing to advance north into the Serengeti.

Tanzania has an abundance of safari park alternatives, including the amazing Serengeti National Park, the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, and the wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park.

The huge expanses of Ruaha and Nyerere (Selous) National Parks, located in Tanzania’s extreme southern borders, provide great wildlife watching for anyone prepared to venture off the usual route.

A trip to Tanzania also gives you the chance to climb Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, while the island refuge of Zanzibar beckons you to unwind among a coastal paradise of sun, sand, and surf.

We urge wearing clothes that are comfortable and made of natural, breathable fibers. Plan to layer up or down as the weather changes. While black, navy blue, and other dark colors tend to attract insects, neutral colors are best for game viewing; camouflage is not permitted in game parks. Evenings call for smart casual clothes, although formalwear is not required.

While both destinations are known for their exceptional game viewing, Tanzania’s majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, coffee plantations, tropical coastline, and Zanzibar island paradise set it apart from its northern neighbor.

Tanzania’s climate is generally more tropical than Kenya’s, with more lush, green scenery. Because of their proximity and the Great Migration’s crossover, these two nations are sometimes grouped into one voyage.

A yellow fever vaccine is not required for entry into Tanzania, but may be required if traveling through the endemic countries

The ideal months to visit Kenya are December to March (when the weather is pleasant, mainly dry, and game watching is at its optimum) or late June to October (when the Great Migration is at its greatest in the Masai Mara).

The primary rainy season lasts from April to May, with a brief wet season in November. These wet seasons attract fewer people while providing plentiful greenery for grazing animals. Calving season for animals such as antelope occurs in February, providing a front-row view to the infants’ first steps and interactions.

The Great Migration is the greatest animal migration in the world. Every year, almost two million animals (wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle) migrate in a clockwise pattern between the Serengeti (Tanzania) and Masai Mara (Kenya) habitats.

While this cycle continues throughout the year, August and September are the best months to see the Great Migration in Kenya, and your chances of seeing a river crossing are generally much higher.

The rainy season in Tanzania begins in late October, and the herds begin their trip back to the Serengeti.

Kenya’s known game reserves, such as the Masai Mara National Reserve, provide world-class animal watching.

The Mara, Kenya’s most popular safari location, is home to the largest populations of lions, wildebeest, and elephants in the country.

The Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya is home to numerous endangered northern species, including the Somali ostrich.

Amboseli National Park is well-known for its abundant elephant herds, but it also has giraffes, zebras, and cheetahs. Chyulu Hills National Park is famous for its unusual volcanic environment, which includes one of the world’s longest lava tubes.

Private conservancies such as Oj Pejeta and Lewa Wildlife offer exclusive safari experiences such as lion tracking with a research expert and night game drives.

Choose clothing that is comfortable and informal, made of natural, breathable fabrics that can be layered as the temperature changes. Wear neutral colors for game viewing (but not camouflage, which is prohibited in game parks). Insects are drawn to black, navy blue, and other dark hues. Rwanda Travel Guide

Rwanda is a jewel of a land located just a few degrees south of the equator and bordering Tanzania and Uganda. It is known for its forests, hills, mountains and volcanoes, and is the place where Dian Fossey fought off poachers and politicians to save the African Mountain Gorilla.

Visitors can come to visit the gorillas in the Volcano National Park, but there is more to Rwanda than just the remarkable creatures. A short Africa travel tip & guide to Rwanda has been compiled to help make the most of your visit. Here we provide Africa travel tips to know before travel to Rwanda

The dry season, which runs from June to September, is often regarded as the ideal time to visit Rwanda. During this time of year, there is often light cloud cover, which creates a pleasant climate for gorilla trekking.

Visitors of certain nations (including the United States and the United Kingdom) can get visas on arrival in Rwanda for $30. All other travelers who require visas must obtain them from their home country prior to their trip.

As a general guide, comfortable, casual wash and wear clothes are recommended. Khaki, green, beige and neutral colors should be avoided, as it attracts Tsetse flies.

Lightweight water-proof jackets, urdu trousers, rain hat, swim and beachwear, comfortable walking shoes, strong waterproof walking boots, sun block, sunglasses, hat, moisturizer and lip-salve, strong insect repellent, binoculars and camera equipment, and a small backpack for water and a packed lunch.
