This is a great way to spend an extra day in the park and is a rare and delightful experience not to be missed.

The Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is a popular destination for tourists to visit the golden monkeys, a rare species listed as endangered. Two troops of the monkeys are habituated to visits by tourists, both of which number around 80 members. The golden monkeys live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes and have adapted to their daily visit. Tourists can trek to find the monkeys in a small group of more than eight people, and can spend one hour with them once they find them. They are very sprightly creatures and leap from tree to tree, which is entertaining if a little difficult to photograph.

It is recommended to set a camera to a fast shutter-speed to allow for low light in the dense undergrowth. This is a great way to spend an extra day in the volcanic National Park and for those interested in wildlife.

C)Gorilla Tracking
Mountain gorilla tracking is a great wildlife experience that involves a hike up to the Volcanoes National Park. The hike can take up to four hours and is not something to be taken lightly. It is forbidden to eat or smoke in the presence of the gorillas and to approach within five meters of them. Gorillas are susceptible to human diseases and if one ill tourist infects a gorilla, they will have no resistance.
